Easy Ways to Keep Your Kids Busy This Summer

Are the kiddos driving you NUTS yet?

Entertaining them for three months can be a little daunting, right?

Don’t fret, my pet.

I polled other mom's to gather a few tricks to give you some ideas!

  • Paint old T-shirts and sneakers.
  • Have a tie-dye DIY afternoon
  • Make homemade slime
  • Go on a family bike ride
  • Enjoy a science project while making bath bombs or cleaning wipes.
  • Plant trees together.
  • Teach your kids to garden.
  • Encourage them to do a fundraiser, my favorite is a Freedom Feet campaign
  • Plan a scavenger hunt in your backyard where your kids have to find something that represents every color of the rainbow.
  • Break out the sidewalk chalk and teach them how to hop-scotch
  • Create a mini spa day at home while everyone enjoys a foot soak
  • Have a backyard camp out and watch a movie in a tent or homemade fort
  • Go on nature walks and use this app to identify and learn about different plants and flowers
  • Spend the night star gazing with a cool star-gazing app in the app store to identify constellations and planets.
  • Introduce them to roller skating
  • Make No Churn 3 Ingredient Ice Cream
  • Have them help an elderly or handicapped neighbor with yardwork
  • Create a vision board using items from around the house.
  • Journal things they’re grateful for
  • Spend the afternoon volunteering

If you incorporate one of these games into your kids or grandkids summer fun snap photos and use #CocktailDiet or tag me!  It doesn't have to be pretty, just look the majority of my photos :)

Now if you are not wanting the games perhaps this blog from last year with some Podcasts for Kids might be more your speed.

And if you're headed to the beach or lake or backyard, perhaps these games & activities might help too.  Beach Toy Roundup post
