GF Costco Finds part 5

 Subscribe: Lifestyle Newsletter

I'll recap below what these are all about but keep in mind I do buy fruits and veggies at Costco.  They don't typically make these lists because of the obvious points that they are naturally gluten free and can easily access them at grocery stores.  Also I won't talk about the toilet paper or paper towels though if you have questions about anything feel free to reach out!

I will be sharing some products I grab at Costco which are gluten free.  Now I am not by anyway being reimbursed or sponsored to share these.  Having to go gluten free (GF) is no easy task plus it can be very expensive because you just don't know what you are getting when you buy a GF product.  I've wasted a lot of money trying products and then also found some great products from recommendations.

Disclaimer I have not tested positive for Celiacs so if you have celiacs please take what I'm sharing with a grain of salt.  However I have noticed I'm better off when I eat products which have been certified gluten free.  Beware because many products like to use the word gluten free yet their manufacturing facility may not be gluten free.  I've also heard that gluten can stay airborne for like 24-48 hours I believe, don't quote me as I haven't found good evidence on that yet.

This chart was eye opening for me when I switched.

I labeled this part 5 as you know Costco changes and so this is what I have on hand currently to share with you.

Here's part 1part 2, part 3, and part 4.

Let's dive into the latest round.

In Part 4, I talked about the frozen edamame.  Here's one for on the go!  If you're on the fence because of rumors you've heard here's a quick read on the benefits, click to read.

Adult version of a flinestone vitamin.
Here’s a little bit of why to incorporate into the daily routine. Oh and it’s that soapbox of mine, whole foods over vitamins or supplements 🥸
Brazil nuts have higher concentrations of:
magnesium
• copper
• zinc
• selenium
Brazil nuts are an excellent source of healthy fats.
In fact, 36% of the fats in Brazil nuts are polyunsaturated fatty acids. This type of fat has shown benefits for heart health.
Selenium is a trace element vital for your body’s proper functioning. It’s essential for your thyroid and influences your immune system and cell growth.
Higher levels of selenium have been linked to enhanced immune function and better outcomes for:
• cancer
• infections
• infertility
• pregnancy
• heart disease
• mood disorders
One Brazil nut per day could deliver enough selenium to support thyroid function. *I've heard 2 to 3 a day also, so take it for what it's worth 🤣
Please note you most likely do not need to consume a full serving size. Most research suggests that eating 1-3 brazil nuts a day is sufficient.

Pistachios are a complete protein as they contain all 9 essential amino acids. Grab them for your next snack!

These had the star of death but I'd seen them floating around on the internet so I wanted to try them. The short ingredient list sure is nice to see. After my first sampling, I like them! They offer a nice crunch but not break a tooth crunch like many GF crackers. They do give off a sweet flavor, very reminiscent of cornbread which I miss a good cornbread.

At the time of writing this I have not opened this bag, lol. So if you have tried them let me know your thoughts! I love a good coconut sweet treat plus coconut & dark chocolate do offer health benefits. Fingers crossed!

I'm always on the look out for a good bone broth, mostly as I use them as a good sip when sick or during the cold winter months to warm up. So far I have found a good chicken one I like but not a beef version. I have only tried this one once since writing this but I will say it tastes better than the previous ones I've tried. I think next time I will make the water hotter, still giving this one hope!

If you are just tuning in, popcorn is my favorite snack. However growing up I loved corn nuts, mostly the ones from a local orchard. These give a new take on corn nuts for me. The kernels are larger and it's a lighter crunch especially compared to that gas station version, iykyk.

If you read this far, in this most recent trip I also grabbed some pears, carrots, steaks, turmeric, toilet paper, paper towels, and butter.
