Make Ahead Breakfast

 Subscribe: Lifestyle Newsletter

Breakfast is often described as the most important meal of the day, providing sustenance and energy  for whatever activities lay ahead.  Yet, so many times it's skipped or a lackluster sugary snack which has poorly been called a breakfast food.

Whereas a breakfast should contain a protein, whole grain, fruit, & veggies.
  • A high protein breakfast has been shown to benefit muscle health and to support weight loss by increasing muscle mass, energy expenditure (calories burned), satiety hormones, glucose regulation and by decreasing the desire to snack at night .
  • Fruits for breakfast helps by providing valuable enzymes, fiber, and prebiotics to trigger digestive juices in our stomach and wash out old waste matter from the previous day.
  • By eating veggies for breakfast, you're fitting in those important servings and getting more fiber and more nutrients to boost your day.
  • Whole grain foods are good choices for a nutritious diet. Whole grains provide fiber, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. Whole grain foods help control of cholesterol levels, weight, and blood pressure.

Let's get you prepping some breakfast to take on the go or perhaps camping.

What you need:

Breakfast Sausage

Eggs

Bacon

Peppers (or your choice of fillings)

Cheese (optional)

Pepper & Salt to taste

Wraps, English muffins, pita, or buns

Create:

Brown breakfast sausage (drain off grease if necessary)

Cut up peppers

Cook bacon to desired doneness

Cook eggs and add salt & pepper to taste

Sauté peppers with the cooked breakfast sausage

Add eggs and bacon to the sausage & pepper mixture

Then assemble your sandwiches/burritos.

At this time add your cheese if desired.
