Self Care at Home
“10 steps to better skin?!”
Look, I don’t know about you, but this lady does NOT have time for 10 steps.
The only 10 steps I’m taking are from my couch to my fridge and I’m lucky to get my outfit straight before I’m distracted by what I even got up to get out of the fridge.
There’s just no time for self-care, or so you thought!
See I've heard it so much over the last 5 years, along with a slew of other excuses. We will save those for another day, lol.
So I'm letting you in on 10 steps to self-care!
1. Watch a favorite childhood movie. Remind yourself of a simpler time and chill.
2. Turn up the music and dance. Studies have shown that music makes you feel better!
3. Get active. Moving your body can get your heart rate up and boost your mood.
4. Take a bath. Bubbles, a candle, and your favorite drink. Nuff said.
5. Turn off your phone. Alleviate stress and think about positive things.
6. Sleep. Let yourself rest. Your to-do list will still be there when you wake up.
7. Clean. Give yourself a fresh space!
8. Write. Put pen to paper and get it all out.
9. Bake. It gives you something to focus on and a creation to be proud of.
10. Get dressed up! Sometimes getting dolled up {whatever that looks like to you} is just what you need to feel good. Getting out of the pajamas & coming your hair can be dressed up some days, other days it's actually putting on makeup.
Obviously, I do not get these done everyday.
However I've found that sometimes I need to stop & refocus or a refresh or reconnect.
That lead me to put together a 5 Minute Self Care Challenge. It's now on demand so you can start anytime. It's a text reminder to take 5 minutes to focus on you over 5 days.
To get started simply text 5MIN to 402-204-8070
And I'm on the other end of that text as well so if you have any questions during it you can text me back. Otherwise you can just enjoy the mini challenge.
But please know, the challenge portion is automated so you are not bothering me by signing up ;) It's really for your benefit to try it out....even if you take away one nugget I'll be thrilled for you.
And because as a woman we don't go to the bathroom along, share this with a friend to do the challenge together or on social media to help someone else out.
If you participate in the challenge snap photos of your progress and use #CocktailDiet or tag me! It doesn't have to be pretty, just look the majority of my photos :)
