Guilty as charged!
I’m always so confident I can copycat a look only to wind up looking like I belong on a makeup version of Nailed It! #facepalm
This monochromatic look though *chef’s kiss* it’s perfection!
Monochrome makeup is a unique beauty trend that involves wearing the same color makeup products on two or more of your facial features, including your eyes, lips, and cheeks. Unfortunately, monochrome makeup can become a clownish catastrophe if applied incorrectly.
I’ve got 3 tips for pulling this look off and looking like a monochromatic spring queen!
1. Go neutral. If you’re intimidated by the monochromatic makeup trend, go neutral with your monochromatic makeup look. To apply neutral monochrome makeup for a subtle finish, choose a warm color that complements your skin tone.
2. Go bright! A full face of one bright color is a large part of the fun of this beauty trend. If you do choose to use a bright color for your monochrome makeup look, choose two of your features (lips and eyes, lips and cheeks, or eyes and cheeks) and leave the rest of your makeup neutral to keep it from being overwhelming!
3. Use products that multi-task! There’s no need to go out and buy brand-new makeup to create a monochrome look. If you want to try a bright pink monochromatic makeup look but are out of bright pink blush, use your lipstick as cheek color! Check out this clip where I used lipstick as blush.
