Space Buns

It might be the trend of the century.

Yup, I said it.

Everyone is rocking space buns this year, from college girls to moms in the school pick-up line.

It’s such a simple and cute hairstyle (especially on the days your hair is feeling more like dry shampoo than anything else!)

Ready to try it out!

Follow these simple steps and you (or your little one!) will be looking adorable in no time!

  1. Start by parting your hair in the middle. Make sure your part is as straight as can be with the same amount of hair on each side as this can make or break your entire space bun look!
  2. Create pigtails. Gather one section of hair and put it into a ponytail toward the top back of your head. Make sure to smooth any bumps during the process. Once you’ve created a ponytail to one side of your part, create an identical ponytail on the other side. Make sure to mirror your placement—you don’t want your space buns to be lopsided!
  3. To create your space buns,  wrap the length of your hair around the base of your ponytail. Hold this newly-formed bun into place while you secure it with bobby pins. Make sure to use bobby pins that match your hair color for a seamless look! Repeat on the other side.
  4. Finish the look with a spritz of hairspray to hold it all in place.
  5. Optional:  Want beach waves after the fact, spritz on Sea Salt Spray before creating the buns.
  6. TIP:  if your hair tends to frizz, is a tad damaged, tends to tangle, or is looking dull be sure to spritz with Revitalizing Hair Mist any time.  Works great on wet or dry hair.

After you create your buns, share a photo of your finished creation on social media using #CocktailDiet or tag me!  It doesn't have to be perfect, messy buns work :)
